My autumn beauty (Sephora) must haves

I love Sephora! I think I have mentioned that before. Who doesn’t? There was a rumour last year that it was coming to the UK, I don’t think that happened and that is pretty gutting. I usually stock up if I go to the US or anywhere that has one (check your holiday destination as I know there is one in Rhodes). If I don’t plan on going anywhere then I order online, it is worth the delivery charge and if your friends love it too, you can split it.

That being said I was lucky enough to go to NYC for work a few months ago so I am all stocked up for autumn, ready to take care of my skin as it gets colder! Here’s what I have gone for…

  1. Triple Action Cleansing Water – I find this so hydrating and not greasy at all, it leaves my skin feeling fresh in the morning and the evening.
  2. Avocado Face & Eye Mask – I haven’t used these yet but I know people that swear by them. I think I will give it a go this evening!
  3. MicroSmooth Baked Sculpting Contour Trio – This is one of my fave products of ALL time. I always have it in my make bag, the colours are perfect all year round and really quick and easy to use before my toddler throws a tantrum!
  4. Mixology Eyeshadow Palette – I haven’t seen this before, think it is new. I love the Naked palettes so was unsure about this one, but it’s great. Perfect for day to day, with ‘sweet and warm’ colours ready for autumn!
  5. Sephora Collection Lipstick – They have a whole range of colours and the deep reds are the best I have had. The lipstick stays on and never dehydrates my lips, which is a great in the colder months.

Who wants to start a petition to get Sephora in the UK? I’m in!

Postpartum hair: How I helped my hair get back to normal

I have recently returned from a very lovely but extremely hot holiday and my hair feels frazzled and a bit broken again. Now don’t get me wrong it’s nowhere near as bad as my postpartum hair, but it’s going to need a bit of nursing.

This got me thinking back to just after I had Hallie, my hair was suffering big time. It started to break around the front, the sides and the back – nightmare. I am also a bleach blonde so it doesn’t help the condition of my hair. In the end decided to go for the chop, to give it a chance to grow back in a better condition. That and the steps below saved my hair!

This time last year

  1. Give it a good cut, in the long run you will be so glad you did
  2. If you have your hair bleached ask your colourist to use L’Oréal Smartbond when doing it, my hair has never grown so much since!
  3. Treat yourself to some good hair products, my faves are; L’Oréal repair shampoo and conditioner from the salon, Dr Paw Paw conditioner spray to be used before you brush it through, Smartbond conditioner (use a couple of times a week)
  4. Try and not wash your hair as often
  5. Try not to straighten your hair as often or tie you hair back tightly
  6. Don’t give up the hair care routine!

My hair now, a year later (well pre holiday breakage 🙂 )

It is almost that time of the year again for our family HOLIDAY time! I have started making the lists and checking them twice, comparing them to last year to check I don’t forget anything, and that is when it struck me, I have new products in my life, products I now love and that I must share…

DR PAWPAW It Does It All 7 In One Hair Treatment Styler

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product. It has been a while since I fell this hard for a product, especially a hair product (of which I am particularly fussy, ever since pregnancy/post pregnancy hair loss days).  I have bleach on my hair once a month, so I need to make sure I take care of it. Part of my daily hair dry routine begins with a spray in/leave in conditioner before I run the brush through. I normally buy these from the hairdressers as it feels safer and I was dubious when I was recommended the PAWPAW, but i needn’t worry, it is fantastic. I use it all the time, it smells like holiday, so that cheers your day right up to begin with. Equally if my hair loses it’s way during the day a quick spritz of the PawPaw and it looks and smells great again. My hair is in a great place right now and I think that is mainly down to (a fantastic hairdresser) and PAW PAW!

Browvo! Conditioning Primer

I am sadly from the over plucked eyebrows era, gutting. I have been going to the benefit counter to get my eyebrows tinted and waxed, which has helped make them look fuller, but I needed something more. The assistant told me to look no further then Browvo! ‘In 28 days you will notice a huge difference’, sceptical I bought it and smeared it over my brows as soon as I got home. You are suppose to use it morning and night, so I have it next to my bed to do both. I kid you not, two weeks in I noticed a difference, the hairs were cropping up all over the shop (well within the brow and eye region). I am now hooked and going to have to get more as they are getting fuller and fuller. Soon I will have erased 2000’s brow mistakes!

Dr PAWPAW Tinted Peach Pink Balm

Yes, they have another great product! a tinted balm that I use on my lips but can be used elsewhere, such as cheeks. It is great for mums on the go, it is good for your lips and gives you a gentle colour on them. What I like, is that is doesn’t feel greasy and like it is just sat on top of your lips like some balms. I also have a small pocket size one without the tint for on the go. The only thing I have noticed with the tinted one is that it seems to smell different now, not a bad smell just different, so wondering if it has a shelf life…or I might have just left the lid off or something.

Sephora Trio Blusher

This isn’t a new product, this is my forever ‘go to’ blusher. I fell in love with it 3 years ago and I haven’t found a better product. We are going to Rhodes and Rhodes Town has a Sephora! Yay!! It has a pink and brown and a light pink to highlight. Follow the back for tips on where to put it and you will never look back…
